Certification Of Horticultural Producer


Bord Glas has published a series of Quality Manuals and other documents containing legislative and best practice guidelines for the horticultural sector. These are used by producers of horticultural produce to assist with the application of best practice for each sector.

Bord Glas historically carried out inspections and certified producers against these documents under The Bord Glas Quality Programme. However all inspection and certification activities are now subcontracted to NSAI.

NSAI carry out the inspections against “The Bord Glas Specification for Horticultural Producers” which is based on the details contained in their Quality Manuals and other relevant documents. This document outlines the criteria that producers must meet before achieving certification by NSAI.

Applicants should apply directly to NSAI for certification. Participants are inspected twice a year and if successful are issued with a certificate of compliance with “The Bord Glas Specification for Horticultural Producers”. Certificates are valid for a year.
